  1. Do I need automotive experience or knowledge about radiators?
    No, to become a franchisee you do not need any prior knowledge or experience. 1-800-RADIATOR has spent millions of dollars developing software/computer support that will assist franchisees in the selling of radiators.
  2. What are the typical hours of operation?
    8:30am-5:00pm Monday through Friday and 3-4 hours on Saturday.
  3. Is training and support provided?
    YES. Prior to opening, up to 2 individuals per territory receive intensive, hands-on 4 week training. A portion of the training is conducted at the corporate headquarters. Additionally, an account manager will be assigned to each region to assist on an ongoing basis. For the first 3 years of operation franchisor will personally contact local shops that are not regular customers and sell them on the benefits of using 1-800-RADIATOR. This will be done 3-4 times a year and could involve as many as 600-700 calls per cycle. The integrated computer system will also remind franchisees on a daily basis who they should contact and ideas on what they may want to say to help them increase their sales.
  4. Do you offer a secure territory?
    The cities included in the territory will be the franchisee's exclusive territory for all radiators sold by 1-800-RADIATOR or the franchisee in that area. Each territory will include 900 or more existing shops.
  5. How long does it take to get operational?
    Depending on the financing and training schedules, it takes between 2-3 months to become operational.
  6. How much money can I make?
    There are no guarantees on profitability as it will vary from operator to operator. For a sampling of historic cash flow for the franchisor at varying sales volumes (of existing warehouses), refer to the 1-800-RADIATOR UFOC.
  7. How much in start-up capital is necessary?
    This depends on the volume of business at the beginning. A start-up would likely require $50,000 in reserve. A $450,000 territory probably will provide sufficient cash flow for growth.
  8. Are there currently operating locations for sale?
    YES. There are operational warehouses for sale in addition to new territories. Contact your National Franchise Sales agents to assist you in preparing an offer.
